Care Guide
Cared for well, a handwoven rug only grows more beautiful with time. Here is how to keep yours at its best.

Everyday care
Vacuum gently and regularly using suction only — avoid a rotating beater bar, which can pull at the pile. Never vacuum the fringes.
Rotate for even wear
Rotate your rug 180° every 6 months so that foot traffic and sunlight wear it evenly over the years.
Spills & spot cleaning
Act quickly. Blot — never rub — spills with a clean, dry cloth to lift as much liquid as possible, then dab with cold water. Avoid harsh detergents, and always work from the outside of the spill inward.
Professional cleaning
Have your rug professionally cleaned by a specialist in handmade rugs every 2 to 3 years, or sooner in high-traffic areas.
Underlay & sunlight
A quality underlay protects the pile, prevents slipping and adds comfort underfoot. Where possible, limit prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the richness of the natural dyes.
A note on shedding
Light shedding is completely normal for a new wool rug and settles within a few weeks of regular, gentle vacuuming.
